How to Setup a New POP3 Email Account in Outlook Express

Step 1: Start Outlook Express. Click on 'Tools' in the menu bar and then go to 'Accounts'.

Step 2: This opens the 'Internet Accounts' pop-up window. Click on the 'Mail' tab if it is not the one in front. If you have not created an email in Outlook Express before, there will not be any email accounts listed.

Step 3: To add a new mail account, click on the 'Add' button and then on 'Mail'.

Step 4: This opens the 'Internet Connection Wizard' pop-up window. Enter your name in the 'Display Name' field and click on the 'Next' button.

Step 5: Enter the full email address and click on the 'Next' button.

Step 6: You must now enter server information consisting of the type of the incoming email server and the incoming and outgoing email servers. All email accounts on Kirsir hosting are POP3. The incoming (POP3) and outgoing (SMTP) email servers are 'mail.yoursite.com'. NOTE: Some ISP's require you to use their SMTP server. If the above doesn't work, you may need to contact your ISP for details.

After filling in the required information, click 'Next'.

Step 7: The final information to enter is the username and password for the email account you are setting up. These login details are available from your site administrator who created the email address to which you are connecting. After filling in the fields for 'Account Name' and 'Password', click on the 'Next' button.

Step 8: You should now see the 'Congratulations' pop-up. You can now click 'Finish' to finalize the connection process.

Step 9: You now are back to the 'Accounts' list and you will see the new email account that you have just created. The account is referred to by its server (POP3) name by default.
