Losing your Primary Domain Name or Wanting to Use a Different Domain Name

If you accidentally let your primary domain name expire and aren't able to renew it because someone else has purchased it, you do not need a new web hosting account with a new domain name. You might also be in a situation where you simply want to use a different domain name.

All you need to do is purchase a new domain name, and create a Parked Domain for it. Anyone using the new domain name will then reach your website (files in the 'www' folder).

For example, let's say you accidentally let your primary .com domain name expire and aren't able to get it back (someone snapped it up and is trying to sell it back to you). Instead of paying thousands for that same domain name, you might decide to just get a different one entirely or just the different version (e.g. '.ca', '.net', etc.). Simply create a parked domain with the new name. Your main .com name will still identify your account even though you don't own it anymore but your website will work fine with the Parked Domain.
